Ba Duc Sanh pagoda (in Duc Thang ward – Phan Thiet city) is a religious architecture attached to worshiping Mother Goddsses of three realms in Binh Thuan province. This belief makes different, which belongs to the country’s various regions and among different ethnic groups, reflecting the country’s cultural diversity as well as cultural exchanges between different communities. Worshiping the Mother Goddesses who are personification of legend and historical characters contributes to women’s appreciation and their role in society.
In 1844, Ba Duc Sanh pagoda was a small temple built from bamboo and palm leaves by Chinese and people coming from 5 provinces (Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Duc, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai); worshiping Marian Trinity protecting pregnant women, fetus; 24 Mother Goddesses taking care 12 female zodiac animals and 12 male zodiac animals, 5 Mother Goddesses representing metal, wood, water, fire and earth. The pagoda has become a important religious site of Phan Thiet people for 172 years; preserved two royal ordinances by King Thanh Thai King and Duy Tan.
In 2005, the monument was recognized at provincial level.
