Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Vietnam visited and worked in Binh Thuan

BTO - On the March 26 morning, the delegation of the Lao Embassy and Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City visited and worked in Binh Thuan. The working delegation was led by Comrade Khamphao Ernthavanh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Vietnam. Mr. Doan Anh Dung, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and representatives of departments and agencies welcomed the working delegation.

On behalf of the working delegation, Comrade Khamphao Ernthavanh expressed gratitude for the warm and sincere reception given by the province to the delegation. Comrade expressed joy at the socio-economic development of the province in recent times, especially the shortened and more convenient transportation connection from Ho Chi Minh City to Binh Thuan. Comrade Khamphao Ernthavanh expressed hope that in the future, cooperation between Binh Thuan province and the provinces of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic will be strengthened to promote economic and social development between the two sides.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Doan Anh Dung introduced the Water Tower of Phan Thiet - a symbol of Binh Thuan province, designed by Lao Prince Souphanouvong.

Comrade Khamphao Ernthavanh affirmed that personally, along with the Lao Embassy in Vietnam, and the Lao Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, will act as a bridge to strongly promote cooperation between Binh Thuan and Lao localities. This will further strengthen the special friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries of Laos and Vietnam, forever green and sustainable.

During the reception, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Doan Anh Dung congratulated Comrade Khamphao Ernthavanh on being appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Vietnam. Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee of Binh Thuan also provided information on the province’s socio-economic situation to the working delegation. It is planned that in 2024, Binh Thuan will organize a provincial working delegation to visit and work in Laos. This will be an opportunity for Binh Thuan province and localities in Laos to exchange experiences, and seek investment and cooperation opportunities in various fields. Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee expressed hope that Comrade Khamphao Ernthavanh will be a bridge to support and promote future cooperation programs between Binh Thuan province and localities in Laos.

The Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee affirmed that, together with other localities nationwide, Binh Thuan province always do its utmost to preserve and nurture the increasingly developing friendly relations between Vietnam and Laos.
