Binh Thuan debuts provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050

The event was attended by comrade Tran Hong Ha - Member of the Central Party Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, along with representatives of the central ministries, departments, and agencies, as well as diplomatic missions, international cooperation organizations, consulting units, etc.

International guest delegates also participated in the Announcement Ceremony of the Provincial Planning.

On the side of Binh Thuan Province, there were Mr. Duong Van An - Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation to the National Assembly; Mr. Doan Anh Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairpersons of the Provincial People’s Council and People’s Committee, leaders of various departments, organizations, and localities in the province, etc.

The event also saw the participation of over 300 domestic and foreign investors from various industries and sectors interested in investing and exploring the potential and advantages of this region.

The announcement ceremony of the Binh Thuan Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision until 2050, was organized to widely inform agencies, units, organizations, business communities, investors, and the public about the important orientations and the determination of Binh Thuan Province in promoting strong socio-economic development in the future.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Doan Anh Dung, delivered the opening speech.

In his opening speech, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Doan Anh Dung, stated that the event with the theme “Binh Thuan - A Place Worth Living - An Attractive Destination for Investors” would provide basic information about the provincial planning, introduce and promote the potential, advantages, and investment attraction orientation of Binh Thuan to investors. This is also an opportunity for local authorities to listen to managers, experts, investors, and businesses to contribute ideas and suggestions to maximize the potential, strengths, and realize the goal of rapid, comprehensive, sustainable development of Binh Thuan, ensuring the well-being and happiness of the people, from the sea.

To successfully achieve the provincial planning goals, in the coming time, Binh Thuan will continue to harmonize mechanisms and policies, improve the investment and business environment, enhance competitiveness, with a focus on serving the people and businesses. On the other hand, it will maximize mobilization and efficient use of resources to accelerate investment in developing a comprehensive and modern infrastructure system. Meanwhile, the province will also focus on attracting investments, with a focus on developing the three economic pillars: Industry - Tourism, Services – Agriculture applying modern technology. The provincial People’s Committee leaders also affirm that Binh Thuan always welcomes investors and commits to accompanying them, creating favorable conditions for successful project implementation and prosperous development.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha presented the decision on the provincial planning of Binh Thuan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision until 2050 to the local leaders.

During the ceremony, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Phan Van Dang, officially announced the Prime Minister’s approval decision and summarized the key contents of the Binh Thuan provincial planning for the upcoming period. According to the information, the new provincial planning aims for Binh Thuan to become a dynamic, fast, sustainable, and prosperous province by 2030, with a higher per capita income (GRDP) than the regional and national averages, serving as a national and international beach resort tourism center. Additionally, it aims to be one of the country’s green energy centers, contributing to greenhouse gas emission reduction, aiming to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, and aspiring to become one of the region and country’s training and technology development centers. National defense, security, and maritime sovereignty will be firmly ensured, with strong Party organizations, a robust political system, and enhanced national solidarity.

With a vision until 2050, Binh Thuan will become a crucial hub of development in the Central Coastal region with a strong and sustainable maritime economy, a modern economic structure. It will serve as a center for clean energy, a hub for national and international tourism services, a hub for scientific and technological innovation of the region and the country, connected to modern coastal cities, with a high standard of material and spiritual life for the people compared to the region and the whole country.

Immediately after the announcement, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha issued the Decision on the Provincial Planning of Binh Thuan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision until 2050 for the local leadership.

At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also acknowledged, highly appreciated, and congratulated the outstanding achievements that the Party Committee, government, and people of Binh Thuan have achieved in the recent period. Particularly, the locality has utilized its unique advantages, strategic geographical position, along with the relentless efforts of the entire political system, to leverage creativity to overcome difficulties, achieve strong development, making Binh Thuan one of the important growth centers of the region.

However, the provincial planning of Binh Thuan announced today is just the initial step in a comprehensive spatial development orientation, through the linkage between the coastal provinces of the South Central region as well as other socio-economic regions such as the Central Highlands, Southeast region.

In the process of implementing the plan in detail, Deputy Prime Minister suggests that Binh Thuan coordinate with central ministries, agencies, and work with strategic consulting units to develop a scientifically sound and sustainable long-term plan for the locality.

Deputy Prime Minister also suggests that the locality continue to leverage the advantages of a land full of sunshine and wind, as this is the advantage to develop green energy, renewable energy, offshore wind power. This is also the highlight to create differentiation, the strongest attraction for investors in the current trend. It is believed that with the efforts to overcome difficulties, dynamic creativity, and the great aspirations of the Party Committees, government, military, and people of Binh Thuan in recent years, this time will lead the province to develop dynamically, rapidly, sustainably, rich and prosperous from the sea, with a higher per capita income than the national average.

On this occasion, the Provincial People’s Committee has awarded Investment Registration Certificates to 4 investors, and also exchanged Memorandums of Understanding on investment registration with 7 other investors.
