The meeting was hosted by Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh- Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum chairman of the provincial People’s Council cum Chairman of the provincial Election Committee. Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh stressed that the period from now until the election day (May 23) is a very important stage as the complicated development of Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, to ensure that the election will be conducted legally, democratically, economically, and safely as a festive day the whole people, party hierachy of all levels, authorities, fronts, organizations in Phan Thiet city are requested to keep the implementation of Directive No.45 of the Politburo, resolutions of the National Assembly and national Election Council, directive of the Government Prime Minister, directions of the provincial standing Party Committee and the provincial People’s Committee, as well as the central and local agencies’ guidance related to election work. Especially, he also asked authorities at all levels, organizations to strictly comply with Directives, messages of the Secretariat and the Government Prime Minister, documents of the provincial People’s Committee on enhancing the effectiveness of Covid-19 prevention and control.

At the same time, the Election for deputies to National Assembly and People’s Councils of all levels needs to be further disseminated among cadres, party members, officials, civil servants, organizations’ members and people from all walks of life so that they can grasp thoroughly about the election’s purpose, meaning and importance. Moreover, propaganda should be carried out in accordance with specific localities and residential areas to ensure the efficiency. More talks, forums or meetings should be held for voters to learn about lists of candidates as well as their biographies and action plans if elected.
According to report of People’s Committee of Phan Thiet city, preparation work for the elections has well performed so far. The committee for Vietnam Fatherland Fronts of Phan Thiet city and its communes/wards have completed consultation to offer official list of 58 people who are eligible and qualified to run for seats at the Phan Thiet city People’s Council, as well as 669 people running for seats at people’s councils in communes/wards.
The city’s election teams have finished the announcement of official lists of people who run for deputies of National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils at all constituencies as stipulated. Tasks relating to ensuring social order, security and especially preventive measures against the spread of Covid-19 pandemic have been fully prepared for the election’s success.
