Work on Expressway to connect between Phan Thiet and Ho Chi Minh City to be started by Q3/2019
The 8 projects include expressways connecting Mai Son with National Highway No 45, the National Highway No 45 with Nghi Son, Nghi Son with Dien Chau and Dien Chau with Bai Vot, as well as Nha Trang with Cam Lam, Cam Lam with Vinh Hao, Vinh Hao with Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet with Dau Giay. The project has a total length of 530km with a tentative investment of VND104,079 billion.

In the first phrase, the project will built 4 lanes with a width of 25-27 meters. The total investment cost of the first phrase is estimated over VND 18,100 billion, including construction fees of VND 11 trillion. The project is expected to be completed within 36 months.
According to the design, Phan Thiet – Dau Giay expressway has the starting intersection with the National Highway 1A (in Ba Bau – Binh Thuan), 2.58 km far from the National Highway 1A, and the ending intersection at Km43 the Ho Chi Minh city – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway (Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province). The length of the expressway is 98.7km. The project is now taken into consideration for level of funding.
The Phan Thiet-Dau Giay (98km) project has the highest provisional investment of VND 19,571 billion, of which VND 5,551 billion is allocated from the State budget, while the project of Nha Trang-Cat Lam (29km) has the lowest tentative investment of VND 5,131 billion, with VND 2,532 billion funded by the Government.
This expressway route is designed in accordance with international standard, which connects Dong Nai province with the south coastal city of Phan Thiet – Binh Thuan. Once completion, the Phan Thiet – Dau Giay expressway will attract a great number of vehicles travelling by industrial parks, port and the would-be Phan Thiet airport.
