On the evening of December 4 at The Park Hotel in New Delhi, the Vietnamese Embassy organized a Roadshow to promote Vietnam's tourism in India.

Participating at the Roadshow are Vietnamese Ambassador to India Pham Sanh Chau; Mr. Subhir Sobti – Director of Delhi Transportation and Tourism Company; Mr. Rajan Sehgal, Northern Region Director of the Association of Indian Travel Agencies, and representatives from more than 80 travel agencies, some airlines and local media.

According to Ambassador Pham Sanh Chau, Vietnam is an attractive destination with its open policies, friendly environment, natural scenery and rich cultural heritage.

Regarding tourism growth, Vietnam ranks sixth in the top ten fastest-growing tourist destinations in the world and the top in Asia. Vietnam tourism brand is increasingly positioned in the world.

The Ambassador also noted that Indian tourists to Vietnam in recent years have grown rapidly, reaching about 85,000 in 2017, five times more than in 2010.

However, this figure is not commensurate with the potential development of tourism of the two countries. India and Vietnam have good traditional friendship. Cultural exchanges between the two countries have existed for thousands of years, as evidenced by ancient Champa temples in My Son (Quang Nam).

In 2018, the number of two-way tourists between Vietnam and India is expected to reach about 200,000 and will continue to increase in the coming years, with the potential of Indian tourists to Southeast Asia about 3 million every year.
