Model of “Community market limits plastic waste”

The youth union branches are requested not to organize launching ceremonies to ensure pandemic prevention. Instead, they will implement concrete work for small groups of 3-5 members. After the campaign was being launched, youth union members actively joined in voluntary activities, such as: growing 4,200 green trees, removing illegal advertising posters, maintaining 10 “youth’s nursery gardens”, clearing bushes along 6, 7km of road.

Youth union branches at grassroots levels also implemented youth work and actively joined the movement-building civilized urban areas and new-style rural areas. Many youth’s organizations have also undertaken the construction of youth’s self-governing routes under the criteria “bright-green-clean-beautiful-civilized-safe”. Youth union members also arranged propaganda on environmental protection to deal with climate change; launched a movement to eliminate plastic waste and remove garbage causing pollution in many residential areas. Some groups of youth union branches also carried out disinfection at markets and other public areas to strengthen Covid-19 prevention. They also cleaned up Covid-19 concentrated quarantine facilities to prepare for welcoming quarantined people.

Among youth activities, there have been a number of effective models designed by youth union branches in many localities, such as a model of “Community market limits plastic waste” in Ham Thuan Nam district; “Shopping bags to prevent the use of plastic bags” in Bac Binh district, etc… On that occasion, the youth union branch of the provincial Police made a model of Truong Sa archipelago sovereignty landmark in Phan Tien commune (Bac Binh district).

The activities above have contributed to improving awareness of environmental protection among youth union members and the whole people, promoting youth’s vanguard, voluntary spirit, and creativity in protecting the environment and dealing with climate change.
