BTO - The Mui Ne National Tourist Area General Project in Binh Thuan Province 2040, with a vision for 2050 is identified as one of the most important contents. This project is concretized, gradually implemented, and approved by the Prime Minister.

Recently, the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee reported to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee about the General Project of Mui Ne National Tourist Area, Binh Thuan Province 2040, with a vision for 2050. According to the People's Committee, The province has repeatedly organized meetings to discuss, direct, urge, and request all levels of sectors, units, and localities to concentrate their intelligence and maximize their sense of responsibility for the highest quality project. This is a huge project spreading many areas from Phu Hai, Ham Tien, Mui Ne, and Thien Nghiep communes of Phan Thiet City to Hong Phong and Hoa Thang communes of Bac Binh district and Phan Ri Cua town of Tuy Phong district. At the same time, there is a lot of complex, multi-disciplinary content that requires updating new ideas and directions as well as referencing related industry and field plans; therefore the process of organizing and creating content has some difficulties and procrastinates the stipulated project schedule.

So far, the basic project has determined the orientation of planning the structural framework for spatial development, functional subdivisions, connecting the infrastructure system of the entire region; meeting the nature, goals, and internal requirements according to planning tasks approved by the Prime Minister. Following the content of the General Project, the planning area is 14,760 hectares particularly, Phan Thiet City (about 6,625 hectares), Bac Binh District (7,165 hectares), and Tuy Phong District (970 hectares)... This project also aims to form a tourist center associated with urban development in the area taking tourism as the momentum.

There are four subdivisions in the functional areas development orientation within the planning boundary. Meanwhile, the Phu Hai - Ham Tien tourist urban area (area of more than 1,900 hectares) is a commercial finance, health care, resort tourism, entertainment, and national, world-class marine sports service center. Therefore, this subdivision will aim to exploit its advantages. While Mui Ne Tourist Urban Area - South Hong Phong coastal resort tourism (area of nearly 5,300 hectares) is oriented as a national, world-class center for resort tourism, entertainment, and marine sports.

Hoa Thang Urban Center (more than 6,125 hectares) functions as an area to protect and promote the value of Bau Trang scenic spot and areas with typical natural landscapes of "sand hills" and deserts. This is also an area oriented to develop new tourism urban areas, focusing on developing multi-purpose urban tourism complexes associated with unique, luxury tourism products, especially resorts and sports, entertainment…

Phan Ri Cua coastal tourism and resort service urban area (planned area of more than 1,430 hectares) has the nature of a resort tourism urban area, a new development area of Phan Ri Cua town and prioritizes the resorts, health care facilities, and serving long-term visitors formations. This place is oriented to become a center of economics, culture, science and technology, seafood exploitation and processing industry, services, and tourism with a role in promoting regional socio-economic development in North Binh Thuan.

Recently, the Provincial Party Standing Committee (term XIV) also held a meeting to discuss the General Project to construct the Mui Ne National Tourist Area, Binh Thuan Province 2040, with a vision for 2050. Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An noted that the planning must aim at the strategic goal of making Mui Ne National Tourist Area become a leading destination in the Asia-Pacific region. At the same time, it is required to arrange space for the development of the Mui Ne National Tourist Area to ensure airy, modern, civilized, and green - clean - beautiful, and attractive... Especially paying attention to prioritizing public spaces for local people and tourists, with attention paid to both coastal arrangements and inside the planning area.

Soon, the Provincial People's Committee directs and urges the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to continue to coordinate with relevant departments and units to urgently supplement and complete the planning project before reporting to the Provincial People's Council for approval. The next stage is to send it to the Ministry of Construction for appraisal and submit it to the Prime Minister for approval.
