International Tourist arrivals to Binh Thuan on the rise

Specifically, in the first 6 months, Binh Thuan welcomed 234,000 visitors, an increase of 91% compared to the same period in 2023. The number of guest days reached 930,000, up 88% from the previous year. While in the past, the main international markets for Binh Thuan were Russia and Ukraine, the market has seen many changes. International visitors from South Korea, China, Russia, Germany, the UK, the US, and more now make up a significant proportion. Most international visitors stay in the areas of Ham Tien, Mui Ne, and Tien Thanh in Phan Thiet city.

At this time, Binh Thuan is in the peak season of domestic tourism - summer tourism, and the low season for international tourism. However, in June 2024, there was still an estimated 38,000 international visitors to the area, an increase of 22% compared to the previous month. This is a positive sign for the international tourism market.

Many tourism products and services attract international visitors

According to the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of the province, the strong recovery of international visitors is due to visa exemption and electronic visa issuance policies. Many outstanding and attractive tourism products, services, and stimulating programs have been effective in attracting international visitors.

Implementing the “Project on Diversifying Types and Products of Binh Thuan Tourism until 2030”, the tourism sector, in coordination with localities, is developing new experiential tourism products linked to the exploitation of cultural heritage values, historical sites, traditional crafts, unique culinary culture, etc. Additionally, Binh Thuan is enhancing the digital platform in tourism activities, continuing to digitize information systems related to tourist areas, attractions, tourism service facilities; maintaining, operating, and updating data on smart tourism information portals.

Additionally, in the province, there are frequent cultural, sports, and tourism activities that contribute to creating more interesting attractions for tourists. The Phu Quy tourism route is very popular among young people and is one of the bustling tourist spots in Binh Thuan’s tourism sector.

From the beginning of 2024 until now, the number of international visitors to Binh Thuan has increased significantly. These are optimistic signals for the Binh Thuan tourism industry to expect that the growth momentum will continue to be maintained in the future, providing a basis for the industry to achieve and surpass the goal of welcoming 320,000 international visitors this year.

Cumulatively, in the first 6 months of 2024, the entire province welcomed 4.5 million visitors, an increase of 5% compared to the same period in 2023. The revenue from tourism activities is estimated to reach 11.832 trillion VND, up 4% compared to the previous year.
