Ham Tien - Mui Ne is known for its freshly blue sea, white sand, golden sunshine, and unique natural attractions such as Fairy Stream, Ong Dia rocky beach, flying dunes, etc. Over the years, this place has attracted a large number of domestic and international tourists. However, in the past 2 years, due to the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, the tourism industry has stalled and the opening to welcome international visitors has also been halted. Therefore, the Government's policy of opening tourism from March 15th is a good signal for tourism businesses in the province to seize opportunities and restore tourism after two years of almost "freezing" the international visitor market. Currently, resort owners have embarked on improving the quality of products and facilities to welcome international visitors as guided by the Government.
Years ago, Pandanus Resort (Mui Ne ward, Phan Thiet city) regularly welcomed international guests from the markets of Germany, Northern Europe, Russia, China, Korea, etc. However, due to the influence of the Covid-19 epidemic, this resort became deserted, without the shadow of international tourists. With the policy of welcoming international tourists back, this business is very pleased.
Ms. Do Thi My Hanh, Deputy Director of Pandanus Resort said: The unit has prepared quite early and carefully the conditions to be ready to welcome international guests. In which, the upgrade and repair of all facilities and infrastructure are given priority. In addition, the unit focuses on professional training, improving service quality, attracting tourists for employees, and has renewed some tour routes to discover the local culture.
“At this time, our staff is about 130 people, accounting for 70% of the time before the epidemic. They are highly skilled employees and have worked for many years at the resort. Therefore, the unit does not have many difficulties in preparing human resources. We are very pleased and confident in reopening to welcome international guests”, emphasized Ms. Hanh.
Not only Pandanus Resort, but Hoang Ngoc Resort (Ham Tien ward, Phan Thiet city) has also completed the preparation work to welcome international visitors. According to Mr. Tran Van Sang, Deputy Director of Public Relations Hoang Ngoc Resort, this unit focuses on upgrading the whole, building many new areas to welcome international as well as Vietnamese guests. At the same time, intensive training courses in the field of serving European guests were opened to look forward to the upcoming European tourist season. “Besides the traditional market of Mui Ne - Binh Thuan before, we aim to diversify into other markets such as Germany, UK, Sweden, Denmark; to improve service quality, we organize re-training for all employees from changing their approach to service skills and knowledge of epidemic prevention", said Mr. Tran Van Sang.
According to Mr. Sang, to ensure the prevention of epidemics, the business has a medical department specializing in epidemic testing whenever a customer has a need or detects an epidemic; Moreover, some isolation rooms are arranged when there is an incident for customers.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - Chairman of Binh Thuan Tourism Association said: After receiving the official dispatch of the province on the plan to welcome international guests according to the program of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; currently, most tourism businesses are in ready status. Previously, the Provincial Tourism Association also had connections and information with corporations that regularly brought international tourists to Binh Thuan. At the same time, tourism products and services are refreshed to meet the needs of visitors. "The peculiarity of Mui Ne tourism is to welcome European tourists in the winter, so tourism businesses are very much looking forward to this influx of tourists," said Mr. Khoa.
Chairman Khoa shared: After 2 years of being affected by the Covid-19 epidemic, depending on the conditions of each business, there will be "die" or "win" businesses. However, it is fortunate that the Government has implemented a number of programs to restore economic development with a relatively large budget package, including support for businesses. For example: Reduce VAT and will support bank interest rates in the coming time. This will be an opportunity to help tourism businesses recover quickly.
