What's new trend in the tourism industry?
The theme of a tourism symposium organized by the National Assembly's Culture and Education Committee in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in Nghe An province at the end of 2021 was "Vietnam tourism - Recovery and Development". This symposium was held online, connecting 19 provinces and key tourism cities (including Binh Thuan), with the goal of creating a forum to exchange and discuss policy directions, solutions for tourism recovery
The experts' discussion also included new tourism trends caused by the Covid-19 epidemic's indirect effects both short and long term. It is a "vaccination certificate and passport" to help support and develop the flow of international tourists prior to the pandemic's impact. This is not only the keys to open the country's travel Industry" but it also creates favorable conditions for international tourists to travel, etc. The next trend is "No-Touch Travel" which helps to limit contact between people and between people and objects while also improving the tourism experience through technological devices.
As a result of the Covid-19 epidemic, the trend of " Wellness Tourism" is expected to grow in popularity and develop strongly in the near future. Furthermore, there is a trend of "Domestic tourism, short-term and close-to-home tourism" that can draw tourists back to domestic tourism by promoting the demand for outdoor activities, proximity to the nature, and villages, etc. In addition to healthcare and protection, "Sports Tourism" is a growing trend because there are few restrictions on cultural factors, qualifications, and gender, and it is aimed at all subjects with entertainment needs. The rest of the travel trend is "MICE tourism" - a type of tourism that has advantages because it combines tourism, relaxation and work (conferences, seminars or business events, etc).
Take advantage of the opportunity
Along with the implementation of safe, flexible, adaptative solutions, and effective control of the Covid-19 epidemic, from mid-November 2021 Vietnamese tourism piloted international arrivals on charter flights to a number of localities that met the requirements. As for Binh Thuan, after welcoming domestic tourists, Binh Thuan is currently developing a pilot plan, which it will report to the competent authority and submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and addition to the list of welcome locations for international tourists.
Binh Thuan has made significant efforts in the past recent time to accelerate vaccine coverage in both the community and industry workers, helping to build the image of a safe destination in the eyes of tourists. At the moment, the southernmost coastal land of Central Vietnam retains its allure due to the strength of resort and recreational sports on the sea, with the focus on Mui Ne National Tourist Area, etc. Entering the new normal period, The Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution 06 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee (term XIV) on tourism development to 2025, with a focus on 2030. Currently, the locality continues to develop a plan to implement this resolution, with the goal of making tourism a leading economic sector and one of the province's pillars of socio-economic development.
According to the orientation, the locality will make efforts in the coming time to effectively implement the project to transform Binh Thuan into a national marine tourism & sport center. Simultaneously, it promotes the construction and formation of Binh Thuan tourism ecosystem towards the criteria of "Safety - friendliness - quality", building and organizing the implementation of the Provincial Night Economy Development Project to 2030. Along with that, Binh Thuan focuses on calling for investment in projects of tourist complexes, green - clean - beautiful luxury resorts associated with entertainment, commerce, services, sports, casino services, health care, etc.
With favorable conditions, Binh Thuan also consider hosting sports tournaments at sea, particularly the PWA Mui Ne - Vietnam Windsurfing World Cup, which is held annually by the World Windsurfing Association PWA. Furthermore, businesses are encouraged to promote the development of resort tourism associated with MICE tourism, forming tours to explore coastal sand dunes, lakes, and waterfalls like Bau Trang (Bac Binh), Da Mi (Ham Thuan Bac), Thac Ba (Tanh Linh), Phu Quy island, or the tourist route Ta Nang - Phan Dung, etc. At the moment, the relevant departments and localities continue to survey and re-evaluate the tourism potential associated with agricultural and forestry activities in order to develop eco-tourism products in forests, lakes, waterfalls, and orchards.
Grasping the trend, taking advantage of tourism and being energized by external transportation infrastructure, Binh Thuan tourism aims to welcome nearly 9 million visitors by 2025, with international visitors accounting for 10-12 percent. Not only towards that goal, Binh Thuan also intends to develop Mui Ne National Tourist Area into one of the leading destinations in the Asia-Pacific region in the coming years, etc.
In the near future, Binh Thuan is also interested in promoting digital transformation and the application of science and technology in the industry in the future by perfecting the digitized data system on tourist areas - tourist spots, tourism service establishments, visitor management. Furthermore, connecting with the national database system, the functional agencies in charge of state tourism management, and the information system for managing stay notices. Binh Thuan also focuses on digital transformation in promotion, advertising, branding, booking, payment, etc, and encourage businesses to put tourism products on digital technology platforms, enhance interaction and timely grasp capture the needs and tastes of visitors to build a suitable business strategy.
