Binh Thuan sets up a pilot program to welcome international tourists

During Phase 1 (beginning in January 2022), the locality starts wecloming international arrivals through the package tourism programme, charter flights, and international trade in the region. Tourism service establishments are chosen from a list announced by the functional agencies.

In Phase 2 (starting in March 2022), the pilot program broadens the scope of international tourists by connecting destinations via regular charter flights and international trade. After tourists have completed the tour programme at the first destination within 7 days, they can join a tour programme that combines destinations in Binh Thuan and other localities that have been approved by the competent authority to welcome international tourists.

Phase 3 will fully reopen to the international tourist market; the timing of this phase is determined by the actual epidemic situation as well as the results of international tourist arrivals in the first two stages, etc. This project was created and recommended for implementation in the near future in order to gradually restore Binh Thuan's international tourist market. Simultaneously, restore the operation of the tourism industry, as well as related economic and service sectors, in accordance with the Government's roadmap allowed and contribute to ensuring social security in the locality.

The organization of welcoming international visitors to Binh Thuan will be carried out on the basis of ensuring safety measures to prevent and control the pandemic in accordance with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism's proposed route. Temporary guidance on measures for " Safe adaptation, flexibility, effective control of the Covid-19 pandemic" based on each level of epidemic applied in the province's tourism sector. Furthermore, the pilot programme to welcome international tourists to Binh Thuan aims to promote and reinforce the image and brand of a safe and attractive destination.

According to the draft of the pilot programme to welcome international tourists to Binh Thuan, the locality will adjust in accordance with the actual situation and update the directions of the Government and ministries involved during the implementation process.

At the end of last year, the Prime Minister allowed five localities across the country to pilot welcoming foreign visitors, including Quang Nam, Phu Quoc (Kien Giang), Da Nang, Quang Ninh, and Khanh Hoa. Binh Thuan province, since October 24, 2021, local tourism has officially opened to welcome domestic tourists back in the new normal period, etc.
