Phu Quy tourism emerged as a “Bright spot”

In comparison with the first half-year of 2022, almost all of Phu Quy’s economic criteria posted a much lower performance, except the tourism sector. In the context of common difficulties, the recovery of the “non-smoke industry” of Phu Quy Island has been considered as a highlight of the province’s transforming step.

According to statistics, the locality has welcomed roughly 89,800 turns of tourists since early this year, a year-on-year increase of 45,800 ones.

With respect to tourist management work, the island’s authorities have strengthened management on accommodations, service prices, food safety and hygiene, environmental protection, and so on.

Thanks to the recent operation of two more Express passenger ships en route from Phan Thiet to Phu Quy and vice versa, it can meet the increasing travel demands of a large number of tourists inside and outside the province.

In the coming time, the locality will focus on implementing a comprehensive transfer of digital programs to build the Phu Quy district as a dynamic and modern island. Subsequently, it can provide a wide range of user-friendly services for the islanders as well as lure many more visitors to the island, contributing to improving the local living standards and the state budget.
