Inside a lockdown alley in Ham Tien: Dozens of foreigners get essentials and foodstuff

BTO – As many as 36 foreigners residing in quarter 1, Ham Tien Ward, Phan Thiet City have been granted essentials and foodstuff by the local government. Those beneficiaries are foreigners who have been living in the locality for over 2 years. The grant includes 5kilos of rice, fruits and vegetables, and dragon fruit. They all showed their happiness and joy when receiving the presents.

The lockdown area, located in alley No.69, quarter 1, Ham Tien Ward, has 326 households due to 13 cases of Covid-19. There are 36 foreigners from Russia, Ukraine, etc. Inside the lockdown. The local authorities have tested 3,500 people in the area and all of them showed negative results with Sars-CoV-2.

Mr. Le Huynh Quang, a party leader of Ham Tien ward said that: about 200 foreigners with many nationalities are stuck here due to the effect of Covid-19. They have to settle their livings as the way the indigenous do. Since the date of Social Distancing, all restaurants close down and they get some difficulties in buying food. Therefore, the local authorities are discussing to find the best solutions to support those foreigners.
