BTO - The conference on Implementation of the Government’s action program to implement Resolution No. 26 took place on the morning of February 5th in Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province, with the theme "Linking - Breakthrough from the marine economy - Rapid and sustainable development".

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the Conference. It is known that the Resolution No. 26 dated November 3rd, 2022, of the Politburo on the direction of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security in the North Central and Central Coast regions by 2030, with visions towards 2045; and regional investment promotion.

Binh Thuan province participated in the event with a booth displaying typical agricultural and local OCop products.

Attending the conference, there were leaders of Central Committees and Ministries; Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, City Party Committee; Chairman of the People's Committee of 14 provinces and cities in the North Central and Central Coast regions and a number of surrounding areas and provinces; representatives of embassies, international organizations in Vietnam, development partners, business associations, domestic and foreign investors.

Representatives of Binh Thuan province were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Duong Van An, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Doan Anh Dung and leaders of several related departments and agencies.

Presenting Resolution No. 168, dated December 29, 2022, of the government’s action plan to realize the implementation of political bureau resolution No 26, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said that, the Program Government's action sets out eight key tasks and solutions to develop the North Central and Central Coast regions into a dynamic, fast and sustainable development region; Strengthen in the maritime economy commensurate with the potentials and strengths of the region and localities; develop science-technology, innovation, digital transformation in accordance with actual conditions. In particular, the Government's Action Program has determined to focus on developing marine economic sectors. Especially on regional economic restructuring, the program stated promoting the development of the ocean economy, developing specific plans, and synchronous coordination among all levels and sectors combined with ensuring national defense and security at the ocean; especially with industries such as tourism and maritime economy; extraction oil and gas and other ocean mineral resources; farming and fishing.

Resolution 168 figures out 17 specific targets for socio-economic and environmental development in the North Central and Central Coast regions. In particular, the resolution sets out a goal to strive for, in the period of 2021 - 2030, the average growth rate of GRDP in the North Central and Central Coast regions will reach about 7 - 7.5%. By 2030, regional GRDP will increase by 2.5-3 times compared to 2020 (current price), of which agriculture, forestry and fishery will account for about 11.5%, industry-construction will account for about 40.7 %, services account for about 37.5%.

Along with that, the restructuring of agriculture, forestry, exploitation, aquaculture, and seafood in association with the processing industry, ensuring sustainability and efficiency (such as: raising oats, exploiting bird's nests, and tuna).

The resolution also stated the building of brands, development of consumer markets, forming product auction centers, and fisheries logistics service centers in combination with national security; development of forest economy and economy under the forest. In addition, the promotion of collective and cooperative economic development; building new rural areas for comprehensive development in associated with urbanization are strengthen.
