Binh Thuan arranges passenger ship for Phu Quy-Phan Thiet route amid Covid-19 pandemic scenario

 BTO- Department of Transport on August 18 issued an urgent document on arranging a passenger ship route from Phu Quy island district to Phan Thiet city and vice versa while Phan Thiet city is under social distancing measures of PM’s Directive No.16.

Accordingly, SuperDong-Phu Quy II high-speed ship (directly under the management of Superdong Fast Ferry Kien Giang JSC- Phu Quy branch), departed from Phu Quy port at 7 AM on Thursday (August 19), and the ship will take the opposite route at 8: 30 Am in the following day (Friday, August 20) to carry passengers from Phan Thiet to Phu Quy. The maximum number of passengers on board (to ensure Covid-19 prevention) is about 150. All passengers and crew must show their negative testing results for Covid-19 (within 2 days) before boarding the ship. During the routes, passengers and employees are requested to strictly implement health declaration and 5K’s measures.

All arrivals (both at Phu Quy port and Phan Thiet port) must make health declarations and carry out mandatory quarantine in accordance with functional agencies’ regulations.

People’s Committee of Phu Quy district takes responsibility for setting up plans, announcing the ship’s schedules, as well as working with its owner to issue tickets for eligible people. Those who have a demand for traveling from Phu Quy to Phan Thiet can make registrations at the functional office.

People’s Committee of localities must provide the lists of passengers for functional bodies in order to facilitate passengers’ travel schedules. The Maritime Administration of Binh Thuan is asked to coordinate with the provincial Border Guard Command in taking inspections on the implementation of Covid-19 prevention & control of passengers and the ship’s staff before issuing a port clearance.
