400 youth union members joined the campaign “Let’s Clean up the Ocean”

BTO- The provincial of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Branch on October 11 in collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment held a ceremony to launch the campaign “Let’s Clean up the Ocean” and activities in response to the “Green Sunday” program, with the participation of 400 youth union members.

The event also had the attendance of Mr. Do Van Thai-deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Trung- Deputy Secretary of the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union branch. According to Mr. Nguyen Hoai Trung, the campaign is a practical activity to gather people, especially youth to join efforts in environmental protection, contributing to changing their habit to use environmentally friendly products instead of single-use plastic items. The campaign has been considered as one of the responding programs to welcome the 14th provincial Party Congress towards the 13th National Party Congress.

On that occasion, Mr. Do Van Thai urged authorities at all levels, agencies, organizations, social and economic organizations, and the whole people to support the campaign “Let’s Clean up the Ocean” and  “Green Sunday” program through concrete actions. After the ceremony, hundreds of youth union members actively cleaned up the environment along the Ca Ty river and Doi Duong beach (PhanThiet city). The campaign was also launched in other localities in Binh Thuan on the same day.
