Reporting at the event, Director of the Binh Thuan Department of Statistics Pham Quoc Hung said that, the province’s estimated Gross Domestic Product (GRDP) in the first six months of 2023 swelled by 7.76 percent over the same period last year, ranked 11th position throughout the country. Of which, the two sectors of industry and construction and services contributed sharp increases of 6.03 percent and 13.64 percent, respectively, while agriculture-forestry-fishery and product taxes less subsidies rose by 3.69 percent and 0.04 percent, in turn.
Regarding the GRDP’s statistics in the last 6 months, the services sector is considered as the driving force for the growth. Simultaneously, the local economic structure is moving in the right direction.
According to the Statistics, the province’s tourism activities have transpired bustlingly, luring a crowd of tourists thanks to the event of Visit Vietnam Year 2023: “Binh Thuan-Green tourism comes together”. Additionally, the recent operations of 2 expressways of Dau Giay – Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet – Vinh Hao have considerably furthered the tourist volumes to Binh Thuan for relaxation and sightseeing.
It is expected that Binh Thuan’s tourism revenues have so far reaped approximately VND 11,348.4 billion owing to the visit of plus 4.46 million tourists in the past 6 months. Even though, the local tourism sector should take much more consideration in improving the disparity between domestic and international visitors.
