Viet Nam mulls over resumption of commercial flights with RoK

Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh announced Viet Nam is considering resumption of commercial flights with several countries, including the Republic of Korea, during his phone conversation with Korean Foreign Minister  Kang Kyung-wha on Thursday.

Minh suggested the Northeast Asian country to expand cooperation within the ASEAN-RoK and Mekong-RoK mechanisms and join pilot projects on sustainable development in the Mekong region.

Meanwhile Kang spoke highly of Viet Nam's efforts and achievements in containing the COVID-19 pandemic, expressing thanks to the Vietnamese side for having facilitated entry of investors and experts in to Viet Nam.

She affirmed that her country would actively participating in cooperative activities within the ASEAN-led mechanisms and the Mekong subregion in the future.

The two sides took the occasion to share experiences in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, underlining the importance of fostering cooperation across fields, especially economic domain./.
