A Spring flower route

The Spring flower route, which is designed and operated by Son Thuy Phat Interior Company Limited (Ho Chi Minh city) with the theme “Phan Thiet city’s people celebrate the Lunar New Year-Year of the Buffalo”, is expected to be opened from February 8-18, 2021 at the traffic-circle at the Victory Monument running on the section of Tran Hung Dao Street, Nguyen Tat Thanh Avenue, and ending at Tuyen Quang street. The route is expected to be transformed with elaborate flower displays, artwork, buffalo-inspired decorating items, sea and islands models and LED lights. Besides, a culinary space will be opened on this route to introduce visitors to special dishes of the coastal city, along with a stall were products of local businesses on display. Especially, during the opening time of the flower route, music shows will be available at night with the performance of young music bands in Phan Thiet City. To take a troll down the Spring flower street during those days, local people and visitors are welcomed to take photos with flower arrangements. The total cost of this flower route, which is valued at about VND 2 billion, is funded by socialized capital sources.

As scheduled, the string of activities welcoming the Lunar New year 2021 will start with a running tournament on Friday morning (January 1, 2021) at Vo Van Kiet park, with the participation of 2,200 runners. Another running event is also organized for 260 male and female athletes to compete in distances of 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters. A cycling race will take place on the following day, with the participation of athletes in many groups of age. The racing route is running from Hung Vuong Avenue (the section at Lotte Mart Supermarket) to Vo Van Kiet Avenue.

On the occasion of the 91st founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930-2021), there will be a get-together event in celebration of the country, the Party, and Spring 2021. A special arts program before New Year’s Eve is planned with the performance of singer Van Khanh (Ho Chi Minh city), and music groups, artists in Binh Thuan province. The New Year’s Eve’s festive program will end with a low-range fireworks display on Le Hong Phong Bridge. In addition, cultural and sporting venues across Phan Thiet city will organize Tet celebration shows in service of local residents and visitors. As usual, traditional sporting events will be held to celebrate the Tet festival, as follows: Traditional Boat race on Ca Ty River (the 2nd day of the lunar New Year or February 13); Running contest to conquer sand dunes in Mui  Ne (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year February 15)…

Ensuring security and safety

To ensure the best preparation and success of cultural and sporting programs in celebration of the Lunar New Year festival 202, Phan Thiet city’s People’s Committee has issued concrete plans to assign specific tasks for functional departments, units, and localities in order to make inspections and timely deal with violations in terms of social order and security, as well as in the fields of culture, advertisement, and sports. The city’s authority also directed relevant bodies to work in keeping a safe and stable power supply and ensuring sanitation in public areas during the Tet celebration. Police forces take responsibility for intensifying inspections to ensure security and traffic safety at venues of cultural events…
