At the meeting, Mr. Hai gave an overview about Binh Thuan’s geographic and natural conditions, economic structure as well as potential and advantages to attract investment. He noted that Vietnam has a long-lasting friendship and business cooperation with China. And up to now, there have been 23 Chinese-invested projects in the locality, with a combined capital of more than USD 2.3 billion. Those project focuses on dragon fruit cultivation for export, seed production, aquaculture, processing of footwear, energy production, mineral processing. In particular, the coal-fired Vinh Tan 1 thermal power plant (Tuy Phong district) invested by Vinh Tan 1 Power Company Ltd is under construction.
The number of Chinese visitors to Binh Thuan has increased year on year and accounts for a large proportion of the total tourist volume. Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Hai expressed his hope that the comprehensive relationship between Binh Thuan and Chinese counterparts would be flourished in the coming time.
Mr. Wu Jun, for his part, showed his thankfulness for a warm welcome of Mr. Hai. He also thanked the province’s leaders who have created favorable conditions for Chineses enterprises doing business in the locality. He promised to act as a bridge to encourage Chinese companies to invest in Binh Thuan, especially in the setors of agricultural products export-import (dragon fruit, rubber latex…), tourism, etc.
