Attending the reception, there were Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai Tung - Deputy Head of the Provincial People’s Committee Office; representatives of the leadership of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Health, and Provincial Police.
During the working session, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai Tung - Deputy Head of the Provincial People’s Committee Office, stated that tourism is one of the three pillars of the province’s socio-economic development. Therefore, Binh Thuan always prioritizes ensuring the safety of tourists, including South Korean tourists. In the first 10 months of 2023, Binh Thuan welcomed 7.3 million visitors (an increase of 61% compared to the same period), including nearly 212,000 international visitors (an increase of 3.48 times compared to the same period). Specifically, Korean visitors reached nearly 60,000, making them the largest group of international visitors to Binh Thuan.
Additionally, it is worth mentioning that there are currently 22 projects by Korean enterprises investing in Binh Thuan with a total investment of over 133 million US dollars, focusing on tourism, supermarkets, agriculture, industrial clusters, etc. Korean businesses are performing well in investment and business development.
During the working session, representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Health, and Provincial Police also provided important information that the working delegation was concerned about regarding ensuring the safety of Korean tourists in Binh Thuan, such as coordination among departments and localities, management of adventurous tourism activities, camping, amusement parks, thrill-seeking games, water-based entertainment, internal transportation for tourists within tourist areas, healthcare services, ensuring traffic safety, maintaining public order, preventing drowning incidents, and ensuring food safety. In particular, the departments provided contact information to support handling emergency situations for tourists in Binh Thuan.
Speaking at the working session, Deputy Consul General Jung Yeong Sik highly appreciated the activities ensuring the safety of Korean tourists in Binh Thuan province in recent times. In the future, the Deputy Consul General hopes that Binh Thuan will further enhance the work of ensuring the safety of tourists in the province, including Korean tourists, so that Binh Thuan remains a trusted destination for Korean tourists to visit, relax, and experience.
