Binh Thuan Tourism sets a target of attracting as many as 9.5 million visitors by 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Minh, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, delivered a speech at the conference.

During the conference, 10 notable events of the local tourism sector in 2023 were introduced. The most prominent achievement was the successful organization of the Visit Vietnam Year 2023 “Binh Thuan –Green Tourism comes toghether” with over 200 vibrant and attractive cultural, sports, and tourism activities held throughout the year in Binh Thuan and 41 provinces and cities nationwide, promoting the strong development of tourism in Binh Thuan.

For the first time, the province welcomed over 8.5 million tourists, generating a total tourism revenue of over 23,000 billion VND. Alongside that, various cultural, artistic, and sports activities were held actively and practically, featuring a wide range of diverse forms organized at all levels from the province to the district, town, and city, meeting the cultural and spiritual needs of the people. Sports achieved remarkable results in regional, national, and international competitions. The province successfully hosted a series of regional and national sports events, attracting a large number of athletes and visitors from both domestic and international locations to watch and cheer on, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Dat, Head of the representative office of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City, delivered a speech.

In his speech at the conference, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Minh, acknowledged, praised, and highly evaluated the clear and comprehensive achievements of the tourism sector in 2023. He directed the entire sector to closely follow the 11 key tasks and 14 targets for 2024 assigned by the Provincial People’s Committee. In the coming time, the Department needs to find solutions to overcome difficulties and limitations in order to ensure the proper development of the tourism sector, enhance the quality of cultural and sports activities in a professional and high-achieving manner. At the same time, attention must be given to strengthening the cultural and sports infrastructure, maximizing the utilization of invested cultural and sports facilities. Building on the success of the the Visit Vietnam Year 2023, the sector needs to develop more practical directions and solutions, enhance promotion and marketing efforts to attract 9.5 million visitors in 2024, including 320 thousand international tourists. The tourism revenue is expected to reach over 25 trillion VND.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism presented commendations to collectives and individuals.

In the field of culture, the Department must closely monitor the progress, ensure the early operation and effective utilization of the Provincial Theater and Cultural Exhibition Center, collaborate with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the National University of Ho Chi Minh City to develop a project on the cultural values of the people of Binh Thuan.

The Provincial People’s Committee presented commendations to collectives and individuals who achieved outstanding results in the emulation movement.

In the field of sports, there will be coordination and successful hosting of national-level water sports events assigned to Binh Thuan by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, Sports Associations, and the Vietnam Sports Federation in 2024. Notably, the World Carom 3-Cushion Billiards Championship in 2024.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism awarded commendations to the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism for their excellent performance in implementing the tasks of 2023; awarded commendations to two collectives and two individuals who achieved outstanding results in the management and organization of cultural, sports, and tourism activities at the local level in 2023. The Provincial People’s Committee awarded the title of “Excellent Labor Collective” to four collectives who achieved outstanding results in the patriotic emulation movement in 2023; awarded commendations to one collective and thirteen individuals who achieved outstanding results in the patriotic emulation movement in the years 2022 - 2023.
