Binh Thuan to deploy a number of solutions to boost agricultural product consumption

People and businesses are required to actively develop appropriate production and business plans, while following regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control. Remarkably, the activities of preliminary processing, processing, preservation and storage of agricultural products take into consideration.

The Provincial People's Committee also recommended focusing on the promotion of production, according to VietGAP, GlobalGAP and organic standards. In parallel, it should develop areas of agricultural raw materials and commodities, concentrated and sustainable to ensure quality for export, consumption and processing. The in-charged bodies should instruct people and businesses, especially businesses that purchase, pack and transport dragon fruits to fully comply with measures to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic.

The Department of Industry and Trade continues to coordinate with the northern border provinces to capture and promptly update information to provide businesses with effective production plans. Moreover, the amount of goods to the border gate should be regulated so that the opening is suitable to the capacity and progress of customs clearance. In addition, activities to connect supply and demand, consumption of agricultural products between Binh Thuan province and other provinces and cities should be further promoted, especially focusing on retail systems, supermarket chains in the country. According to the Provincial Dragon Fruit Association, an estimated of over 100,000 tons of dragon fruits is need to be consumed by the end of March 2022.
