Binh Thuan’s export turnover skyrocketed

Despite a decrease of nearly 17 percent compared to last month, Binh Thuan’s export turnover in February (matches the Lunar New Year in 2022) still reached about 52.1 million USD, up 94 percent over the same period in 2021.

Among the three key export commodity groups, aquatic products group was estimated at USD 14.2 million (up 71.2% over the same period last year), the group of agricultural products was estimated at USD 1.02 million (up nearly 20 percent compared to the same period last year. Remarkably, the miscellaneous commodities group contributed USD 37.86 million, nearly doubled over the same period last year.

Generally, in the first two months of 2022, the province's export turnover is estimated at USD 114.79 million (up nearly 47 percent over the same period in 2021), of which the highest increase is in miscellaneous commodities group (peaked at USD 82.73 million, up approximately 53 percent) and aquatic products group (reached USD 29.81 million, up 36.55 percent).

It is reported that since the beginning of the year, the local direct export turnover to the Asian market has also increased by more than 50 percent (estimated USD at 75.13 million), while exports to the Americas recorded an increase of 43.45 percent (about USD 24.88 million) and the European market gained 31 percent (reaching USD 12.12 million)
