Binh Thuan: Conference to connect with potential investors kicked off

Attending the conference, there were: Mr. Duong Van An - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly; Mr. Tieu Hong Phuc - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - Head of Propaganda Department of Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Phan Van Dang - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of departments, agencies, localities and more than 200 businesses inside and outside the province.

Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Duong Van An chaired the conference.

Addressing the conference, Standing Vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phan Van Dang affirmed: “This is an important conference to introduce the potential and strengths of Binh Thuan province as well as provide information on the orientation of Binh Thuan Provincial Planning for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Thereby, it creates a driving force to attract and mobilize investment resources from all economic sectors in the region and outside the province”.

According to the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, over the years, Binh Thuan has gradually invested in infrastructure and exploited its potential strengths. In recent years, the province’s socio-economic situation has achieved many positive results. Specifically, the GRDP in 2022 is estimated to increase by 7% over the same period last year, of which the agriculture - forestry, and fishery sector increased by 3.35%; industry construction increased by 5.9%, and services increased by 11.28%.

Besides, the local administrative reform has posted quite positive results. The one-stop-shop mechanism in handling administrative procedures continues to be implemented in an orderly manner, and the quality of administrative procedures for organizations and citizens is increasingly improved. From the beginning of the term until now, the Provincial People's Committee has held monthly public dialogues between leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches, and localities with the enterprises and business community in order to promptly solve difficulties and obstacles during the process of investment.

According to the announcement of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), in 2021, the PCI Binh Thuan Index reached 65.96 points, ranking 21st out of 63 provinces and cities, up 13 places compared to 2020, ranking in a good group of the country. With the orientation of sustainable socio-economic development, Binh Thuan always yearns for becoming an attractive, safe and effective investment destination for all strategic investors. Moreover, the province will continue to improve public administrative services, focus on investment in infrastructure development, improve the quality of human resource training and ensure a favorable investment environment.

The conference gathering potential investors in 2022 is an investment promotion activity included in a series of activities in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the re-establishment of Binh Thuan province (1992 - 2022). The event aims at introducing the potential and strengths of Binh Thuan province, as well as opening doors to lure potential investors.

Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee believe that Binh Thuan will be an ideal, attractive, safe investment destination and make important strides in economic development in the coming years.

At the conference, businesses and investors had their own assessments and feelings about the province’s orientation for tourism and real estate development; hi-tech agriculture; the energy industry; the processing and manufacturing industry in the province, etc.
