Binh Thuan Province with advantages of tourism destination
Binh Thuan has a tropical monsoon climate, warm sunshine, fresh air, and cool, mild temperature, creating a favourable environment for organising tourism activities all year round.
The province is home to a 192km-long coast with various beautiful beaches, famous tourist attractions, historical-cultural relics and traditional festivals.
The lcoality has nearly 900 accommodation establishments with over 17,000 rooms, including 45 hotels and resorts from 3 to 5 stars with nearly 5,000 rooms; and 13 travel agencies, including eight international travel agencies.
In 2022, Binh Thuan is estimated to welcome over 5 million visitors, with tourism revenue estimated at $556 million. In the national tourism year 2023, Binh Thuan is expected to receive more than 6.5 million visitors, surpassing the 6.4 million tourists that arrived before the pandemic.
With such favorable condition, Deputy Minister Doan Van Viet believes that Binh Thuan has full of potentialities to develop various types of tourism products such as wellness, excursions, sports and leisure tourism on the sea, on sand dunes, adventure tourism, exploration of fauna and flora under the sea, cultural tourism, spiritual ceremonies associated with historical - cultural relics and special traditional festivals such as Nghinh Ong Festival (known as the Whale Worshiping Festival, local fishermen pray for favourable weather conditions, peace in the country, safe voyages and bumper hauls of fish), Kate festival (the Cham people honour their dead and heroes from their history), Thay Thim Temple festival (shows the spirit “drinking water, think of its source” of Binh Thuan People), Mid-Autumn lantern procession, etc.
Remarkably, Binh Thuan is also a gateway for economic, cultural and social exchanges with localities in the Southeast, South Central and the Central Highlands regions; a connecting knot of major tourist centres of the Southern region such as Nha Trang, Da Lat, and Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and so on.
It is expected the year of 2023 will be the bright spot to lure more investors, businesses and tourists to Binh Thuan province as it has recently focused on investing, innovating and building attractive tourism products, in the hope of delivering a ‘new breeze’ for domestic and international visitors.
