Various activities held at 2018 Kate Festival

With the meaning of promoting the cultural tradition of the Cham community and highlighting the local tourism event, this year’s Kate festival includes a series of attractive ceremonies and rituals to lure as many as visitors. The ceremonial event is held by Cham religious leaders and authorities of Ham Thuan Bac district.

During the 3-day event, there are many activities to exchange culture, art shows, traditional pottery-making, folklore games, etc. Especially, the ritual to pray for favorable weather and bumper crops is projected to trigger at the same time.

This festival’s ceremonial and festive events must be linked with each other to ensure the maintenance of traditional rituals, create a joyful atmosphere representing the solidarity of the ethnic groups living in Binh Thuan.

Visitors can visit and experience the Kate festival 2018 on their owns' styles. At the festival, visitors can enjoy a very bustling atmosphere and special Cham dance show performed by beautiful Cham girls and handsome Cham men in the traditional costume carried offerings on their heads. The festival offers visitors a chance to enjoy unique folk songs, dances and music with the Cham people, as well as the chance to participate in games and demonstrations of brocade weaving and pottery. The purpose of the Kate festival is to thank the Gods and promote their traditional culture and arts

The opening ceremony will be held from 7:00 to 8h30 on October 9^th morning with a procession of Po Sah Inu Goddess costumes at the Po Sah Inu Tower in Phan Thiet City, followed by traditional rituals and dances with Gi Nang drums and Saranai trumpets.
