During the same period, 58 localities nationwide saw a slight increase in the gross domestic product in the provinces and centrally-run cities (GRDP) over the same period last year. In the meantime, 5 localities nationwide posted a little bit of decrease.
Many localities recorded a high growth rate of GRDP in the first quarter of 2023. Notably, Binh Thuan province and several other localities can be proud of being at the top of the rankings on GRDP. Particularly, Hau Giang increased by 12.67%, Binh Thuan increased by 9.86%, Hai Phong increased by 9.65%, Khanh Hoa increased by 9.07%, Ca Mau increased by 9.05%, etc.
However, in the opposite direction, the GRDP growth of some localities decreased such as Quang Ngai (-1.07%), and Vinh Phuc (-2). .47%), Ba Ria - Vung Tau (-4.75%), Quang Nam (-10.88%), Bac Ninh (-11.85%).
According to the Binh Thuan Statistical Office, despite being affected by the world and domestic situations, the province's socio-economic situation in the first three months of 2023 showed a recovery trend and achieved satisfactory results in many fields.
Compared to the same period last year, the local industrial production value (at 2010 constant prices) increased by more than 7%, the total retail sales of consumer goods and services increased by 32.1%, and the number of visitors increased by 2.2. times (more than 2,082 million turns) and revenue from tourism increased by 2.8 times (estimated at nearly VND 5,370 billion).
