Binh Thuan bags 7 medals at the 19th National Junior Vovinam Championships

BTO – At the 19th national Junior Vovinam (Vietnamese traditional martial arts) Championship, which was held in the central province of Quang Nam under the collaboration of the Department of Culture-Sports and Tourism, Vietnam Sports Administration and Vietnam’s Vovinam Association, Binh Thuan’s young athletes excellently competed and won 7 medals of all kinds.

The tournament, took place from June 25-29, 2022, attracted over 540 junior martial artists from 30 provinces/cities nationwide. Binh Thuan’s Vovinam team with 15 athletes and 2 coaches won 1 gold medal in the weight division of 39 kg (by athlete Nguyen Thi Loan); 3 silvers in 60-kg division (Chau Thi My Yen), 70-kg division (Nguyen Bao Han), 57-kg division (Nguyen Le Thuy Linh); and 3 bronze medals in the 63-kg division (athlete Nguyen Duc Toan), Pham Huynh Yen My and Nguyen Thi Thuy Trang (both in the weigh division of 57 kg).

The 2022 National Junior Vovinam Championships provided chances for young martial artists to experience competitions and improve professional skills in preparation for higher competitions, especially the National Sports festival 2022, which is scheduled to be held in the northern province of Quang Ninh on this November.
