Southeast Asia’s largest solar power plant connected to national grid

Xuan Thien Group successfully connected the 500kV transformer station of the Xuan Thien Ea Sup Solar Power Plant in Dak Lak Province to the national grid on November 15. It is considered the largest solar power plant in Southeast Asia.

The first phase of the plant includes nearly two million solar panels with a capacity of 600 MWac/831 MWp, a 500Kv transformer station and 22.2km of 500Kv lines.

The plant has received total investment of nearly VND20 trillion (US$865.5 million) and will generate 1.5 billion kWh of electricity per year.

The construction of Xuan Thien Ea Sup Solar Power Plant began in April 2020 and its first phase was completed after 205 days.

The second phase of the project is expected to be completed in early 2022, raising the total capacity of the plant to 2,000 MWac/2,800 MWp, which will provide approximately 5 billion kWh of electricity to the national grid each year.

The implementation of the power project in Ea Sup District is expected to help the local stabilise their lives and production, contributing to creating jobs, protecting the border security, and ensuring power security.
