In comparison with the same month last year, the overall industrial production index reached an increase of 20.57% in July. In which, mining industry posted an increase of 1.32% while processing and manufacturing industry saw a 11.12% increase. Electricity production and distribution reported an increase of 23.47%. Water supply, waste water and waste treatment achieved a combined increase of 15.15%. Generally, accumulative index of the first 7 months of this year raised 15.79% over the same period last year, with the highest increase of electricity production and distribution (20.33%).
Industrial production value of the first 7 months of this year reached an estimate of VND 20.524 trillion (under the comparative price of 2010), accounting for 56.36% of the year’s plan and raising by 9.83% compared with that of the same period last year. In July, many products posted increased output, such as: sand and gravel (5.54%), stone (9.59%), salt (51.61%), frozen seafood (10.42%), cashew nut (29.34%), mineral water (4.55%), brick (6.98%), tap water for production (5.12%), electricity for production (20.85%), wooden furniture (12.14%), animal feed (14.36%). In the meantime, a number of industrial products suffered from falling productivity, as follows: dried seafood (18.13%), fish sauce (5.15%), ready-to-wear clothes (4.56%) processed rubber latex (11.39%), footwear (19.41%).
Production in industrial parks has resumed after being impacted by COVID-19 pandemic. Enterprises have planned to cut labour force and listed employees who need government support in line with Resolution N.42 of the Government.
