Potentials and advantages

Binh Thuan province is situated in the major economic region of the South, owning a very favorable position with a diversity of natural resources and a 192-km-long waters way bordering with the international high seas navigation. The locality is set to develop its advantages in terms of tourism, hi-tech agriculture, clean energy, and agro-forestry and fisheries industry comprehensively.

Moreover, the locality favored by the nature makes it claim many achievements in large-scale aquaculture and exports. Included in the overall planning for Vietnam’s and Mui Ne’s Tourism development by 2020, with a vision toward 2030, Binh Thuan is identified as the national and international hub for tourism and sea sport.

Up to now, Binh Thuan has 9 industrial parks covering an area of 3,048 hectares which are fully equipped with water, electricity, telecommunication and waste treatment plant. In the meantime, the locality is going to welcome the new launch of other 23 industrial clusters.

In addition, the ownership of clean energy development potentials with a planning capacity of 29,000 MW fosters the province much convenient for offshore renewable energy development.

Tackling with bottlenecks

Despite great potentials, the locality faces a lot of difficulties in its economic development due to some limitation and obstructions. ` Particularly, the infrastructures and logistics service systems have not been synchronized, causing the low progress of project investment and implementation. The North-south expressway and Phan Thiet airport have not yet completed, while a majority of coastal projects are still under investigation. 

Exploiting the ultimate strengths and potentiality

To prioritize the exploitation of local advantages and potentials, Binh Thuan is racing for the 2019 Investment promotion conference, which aims to call for investments in the local advantages. The conference is slated for September 2019, with the attendance of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. It is expected to lure a great number of strategic investors domestically and internationally so that they can turn Binh Thuan into attractive destinations of entertainment and sightseeing.

Through the conference, the province authorities expect to call upon investment in a number of high-grade tourism resorts in Phu Quy; processing industry, renewable energy and other secondary projects. Binh Thuan also has multiform and high-competitive agriculture resources, clean energy resources, etc. Those shall contribute to the local socioeconomic development by 2020, with a vision toward 2030.
