Société Générale to become financial adviser for Ke Ga wind power project

BTO – The UK’s Enterprize Energy has recently signed officially agreement with a French Bank Société Générale so that the Société Générale is chosen to be the finanical adviser for the initial phrase of Ke Ga offshore Wind Power project in Binh Thuan province. It is now known as the world’s biggest project of its kinds.

President as well as Founder of Enterprize Engergy, Mr. Lan Hatton confirmed the agreement aims to accelebrate the provision of low-cost energy from offshore wind power for Vietnam. Société Générale acts as the strategic adviser right from the initial stage of the project.

The Ke Ga offshore wind power project is a segmental project which covers 2,000sq.km. of water surface about 20 – 50km from the coast of the south central province of Binh Thuan. It is expected to have total capacity of 3,400MW. The Ke Ga project is critical to the energy structure transfer in Vietnam, and it will help turn the country into an important offshore wind power hub in the region, said Founder of Enterprize Engergy, Mr. Lan Hatton.

In the meantime, the Vietnam-Russia oil and gas joint venture (Vietsovpetro) and the Vietnam-based Petroleum Equipment Assembly & Metal Structure JSC (PVC-MS) have been chosen to design and manufacture offshore facilities. Whereas, Mitsubishi Vestas Offshore Wind, a joint venture of Vetas Wind System A/S and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., will supply wind turbines.
