Invested in by the Gia Lai Electricity Joint Stock Company, the factory covers 70ha in Chu Gu commune, Krong Pa district. Construction of the plant began in March this year and was built at a total cost of nearly VND 1.4 trillion (US$60.2 million).
It will produce approximately 103 million kWh of electricity per year and is expected to greatly contribute to the local socio-economic development.
The factory’s electricity output will power the yearly consumption of around 47,000 households, and it is hope to reduce some 29,000 tonnes in CO2 emissions each year.
On the occasion, Gia Lai Electricity Joint Stock Company donated 10 houses, with a total value of VND 500 million (US$ 21,500), to poor households in Krong Pa district.
Previously, the Gia Lai Electricity JSC opened the Phong Dien solar power plant, with a capacity of 35 MW, in October, 2018.
