First high-speed passenger boat for Phan Thiet-Phu Quy route makes debut

BTO- The Phu Quoc-based Superdong Fast Ferry Kien Giang Joint Stock Company on June 21 held a ceremony to launch its high-speed passenger boat for Phan Thiet-Phu Quy route- Binh Thuan province.

This international-standard vessel was built in Malaysia with a total investment capital of USD 2 million. All of its cabins are equiped with air conditioner, LED TV, WC and entertainment system. There is also a luxury cabin for VIP passengers. Tickets cost is VND 350,000 per one adult passenger, VND 250,000 for children and VN D 260,000 for people with disabilities.

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Van Nam said at the ceremony that the operation of this new boat helps shorten travel time from Phan Thiet to Phu Quy and vice versa to 2 and a half of hours, contributing to boosting tourism and socioeconomic development of Phu Quy island district.

Inside the boat

Phu Quy island, which  lies 56 nautical miles from the mainland, has  an important strategic position and a maritime transportation route. The island owns a lot of advantages in setting partnership in all aspects with the neighboring areas.

The company currently has totally 15 fast ferries operating in the transportation routes of Rach Gia-Phu Quoc, Ha Tien-Phu Quoc, Rach Gia-Nam Du, Rach Gia-Hon Son, Soc Trang-Con Dao and Phan Thiet-Phu Quy.
