Binh Thuan to strive for a great surge in socioeconomic development in new year

BTO – By the end of 2017, the province’s socioeconomic development posted a fairly growth with a GRDP increase of 7.08 percent  year-on-year. There are 15 out of 15 criteria reaching and surpassing the last year’s target. Remarkably, the locality pays much attention to boost foreign relation and investment and get better prospect.   

The investment environment has much been improved to support the enterprises on accessing the Government policies and incentives, hurdling difficulties and obstacles and pushing their business and production.

The number of newly-established businesses surged by 32.8 percent against that of 2016. The local authorities also focuses on improving the administrative reforms, which simplify the paperwork, improving the staff’s awareness and responsibilities. The administrative reforms aim to tight the rules and competitiveness of the civil servants, then bringing more effectiveness to the Government apparatus.

The 2017’s successful fruits are the basic factors to push the local economic development sustainably. The 2018 will be an important transactional year of the province’s target of socioeconomic development in the 2016-2020 period. Accordingly, the Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) set out an action plan which aim to get a growth rate of GRDP of 7.3-7.5 percent; food  productivity of 795,000 tons; seafood output of 210,000 tons; export turnover of 610 million USD; state budget revenue of VND 8,500 billion; job replacement for 24,000 laborers; and a proportion for poor household reduction from 1 to 1.2 percent, etc.

To implement the socioeconomic development and state budget estimate 2018 successfully, the People’s Committee of Binh Thuan province has mapped out 8 groups of tasks and missions required to be focused for a new breakthrough.

At a recent meeting, Chairman of the PPC Nguyen Ngoc Hai urged functional departments/agencies/bodies at all levels to strive for surpassing the set target by a comprehensive and decisive directions.

Chairman Hai highlighted the important roles of improving investment environment to lure as many as foreign investment projects in areas of clean energy, tourism and  services, hi-tech agriculture, industrial processing, and so on. All administrative reforms and target gains must match the local satisfaction and current situation.
