Binh Thuan to strengthen law enforcement on illegal fishing in foreign waters

BTO- The provincial People’s Committee on January 29 issued a document on directing the department of Agriculture and Rural Development to take measures to handle  illegal fishing of local vessels and fishermen in the waters of foreign countries.

According to the official dispatch No.412/BNN-TCTS dated January 16, 2018 from Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Binh Thuan's authorities asked department of Agriculture and Rural Development and members of the province’s task force 689 (formed under the PM’s Directive 689/CT-TTg, dated May 18, 2010 on some measures to prevent and reduce the number of Vietnamese captured by foreign countries) to take responsibility for implementing strict measures to cope with violations. At a meeting on January 25, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Huynh Thanh Canh  gave a direction to functional bodies for the implementation of the central government’s document.
