Site clearance and compensation for Phan Thiet airport due for completion in late October

BTO –The progress rate of site clearance and compensation for Phan Thiet Airport was recently reported at a working session led by Vice chairman of the People’s Committee Pham Van Nam, According to information released by the Provincial People’s committee.

At the working session, the Department of Transport confirmed that site clearance and compensation of the 2.56-hectare-distance Radio Beacon, military service houses and  a 10-hectare public house belonging to E920 project have basically completed. Currently, 7 project-affected households are currently still awaiting for compensation as some unexpected troubles arise during the implementation.

For the 543-ha Phan Thiet airport,  the province has approved an amount of over VND 53 billion to make up for Thanh Long limited company with an advance of VND 12 billion.

Mr. Pham Van Nam appraised high efforts of the relevant bodies and agencies in completing the works, contributing to freeing basic ground for the airport project. At the same time, he asked the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to quickly assess the prices of the forestry lands, then propose to the Council for Site Compensation. In the meantime, the Department of Transport was urged to promptly finish advance procedures as stipulation.
