Staff celebrating for successful synchronization of Unit No.1
This is an important step to complete the testing and preparation for its commercial operation as scheduled in June, 2018. Ahead of the synchronization, systems for environmental protection in Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant have been put into operation along with the boiler to ensure safety for environment during the trial operation as well as fully operation.
Vinh Tan 4 is one in 5 thermal power plants under the management of Vinh Tan Thermal Power center operating in Vinh Tan commune-Tuy Phong district-Binh Thuan province. The project has been enlisted in the revision of National Power Development Plan VII and belongs to urgent investment list of the period 2013-2020. The plant includes 2 units with a capacity of 600 megawatts for each unit (total installed capacity of 1,200 MW). With the total investment capital of VND 36 trillion, the plant’s annual power generation is expected to reach 7.2 billion kWh. It is the first thermal power plant in Vietnam using supercritical coal-fired teachnology. Once finished, the plant is expected to help provide stable electricity source for socioeconomic development in the South Central region, contributing to raise confidence level, safety, stability and economics of national grid operation.
