After a successful fishing trip, full baskets of fresh anchovies were taken to the shore and purchased by traders. A trader named Le Thi Tu said with smile: “Since a half of a month ago, local fishermen have hauled abundant catches of marine anchovies. Although the selling price of each basket (weighing 16 kilos) of anchovies has decreased from about VND 240,000-260,000 to VND 200,000-220,000, boat owners still get high income thanks to bumper catches”.

According to Mr. Truong Dat-deputy head of the managing board of Phu Hai typhoon shelter and fishing harbor, average catch of anchovies on these days can reach 120 tons per day. Falling price anchovy is due to rainy weather that makes difficult for people to dry steamed anchovies.
