Binh Thuan to step up fighting against smuggling and illegal transport of petrol in sea route

During the past time, the business and transport of petrol in Binh Thuan province have been gradually controlled, contributing to stabilizing local petrol market and meeting people’s demand for petrol in production and daily use.

However in the recent time,  illegal trafficking of petrol in sea waters with big volume has risen and become more complicated with cunning ways, resulting in serious impact on legal petrol trading activities, heavy losses in budget collection and serious damage for the consumers.

For that reason, chairman of the provincial People’s Committee requests the provincial Steering Committee on prevention and control of smuggling, trade fraud and fake commodities (Steering Committee 389 for short), which has been formed under the Decision No.389/QD-TTg, along with relevant departments, agencies, chair persons of People’s Committee of districts, city and town to concentrate direction on collecting information and observing the situation and transport routes along the coast.

At the same time, authorities at all levels are required to tighten coordination with  functional forces on patrolling, capturing and handling any cases of trafficking and illegal transport of petrol in sea waters.
