Phan Thiet Airport project set to be restarted construction

BTO - A delegation of Air Defense-Air Force Service of Vietnam People’s Army, led by Major General Nguyen Huu Chi- Deputy Commander on September 9 made an inspection trip to the location which is expected to be the venue to restart the construction of Phan Thiet Airport. Chairman and vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Hai and Le Tuan Phong, leaders of functional departments, agencies of Binh Thuan province also joined the trip.   

The investment of Phan Thiet Airport project consists of 2 major components: civil aviation item under the BOT contract form and the project eKQ920. Up to now, Binh Thuan authorities have completed site clearance and compensation to hand over the total land area  (545.56 hectares) to the project. All investment procedures of civil aviation work have been basically implemented by local authorities. With regard to project eKQ920, Ministry of Defense has carried out the report on pre-feasibility study, with a combined investment capital of VND 7.925 trillion. Ministry of Planning and Investment has approved the Ministry of Defense’s suggestion on capital source allocated to the project. Ministry of Defense on August 26 submitted to Prime Minister for approval of investment policy.

On that occasion, Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Hai suggested the delegation to work with Binh Thuan’s functional bodies to review and come to a decision on the venue of restarting the construction, as well as make preparation for the event.
