The project was previously approved by the Ministry of Trade and Industry and was added to the province’s planning for power development in the 2011-2015 period, with a vision toward 2020.
The project of Song Luy 1 Solar power plant is a model of high-capacity plant in the form of BOO (Build – Own – Operate). The total investment is estimated at VND 875 billion, within the operating times of 50 years.
The project is expected to commence construction in June 2018 and completed in March 2019. It is expected that Song Luy 1 solar power plant will provide 75 million kWh of electricity output in the first year after it comes into commercial operation.
According to the development plan toward 2030, the plant will reach a total capacity of 2.500 MW. For thermal and solar power, the capacity is estimated at 10,000 MW and 3,819 MW respectively in the upcoming time.
