Thong Thuan Milk and dairy factory is designed with a self-contained system from equipment installation and breed selection to breeding and milking. This model is provided by Delaval Company from Sweden under a contract package with Thong Thuan Company. The factory, located in Song Binh industrial cluster-Song Binh commune-Bac Binh district, covers a total area of 5.5 hectares with a yearly capacity of 150 million liters of milk, equivalent to about 20,000 milk cows (10,000 milk cows raised by Thong Thuan Milk and the remaining 10,000 ones undertaken by local enterprises and residents). The company will provide the market with three key products: fresh milk (about 75 millions liters/year), yoghust (90 million jars/year), and condensed milk with sweet taste (85 million cans/year)
Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Hai highly appreciated the project and asked functional departments to facilitate the implementatation of Thong Thuan Milk project in line with stipulation.
Hai also suggested Thong Thuan Milk to pay attention to training skilled work forces to well control diseases on livestock; do researches to develop new cross-bred cows that are able to adapt themselves to natural conditions in the locality, ensuring sustainable development of milk cows herds in the future; providing instructions for growing grass and cow breeding techniques for the locals ensure the best quality of cow’s milk. In addition, the company should set up it own business strategy to study and seek market for its dairy products.
