Project on restoring and embellishing Flying Sand Hill tourist area under discussion

Currently, Flying Sand hill (Doi Cat Bay) is divided into 2 areas including the 35 hectares sand-dune area and its 1.8 hectares opposite site. The former 35 hectares sand-dune area which are being exploited for the purpose of sightseeing and recreation while the opposite site of the sand-dune covering an area of 1.8 hectares is being rent by 21 individual businesses on visitors’ account, such as beverage, karaoke, massage, seafood and souvenirs.

Since the Flying Sand Hill tourist area is reportedly a celebrated destination which lures a great number of sightseers and visitors, the introduction of project which figures out numerous feasible solutions to promoting fully its potentialities and beefing up much more recreational actives for catering visitors coming to the tourist area.

After mastering the objectives as well as contents of the draft project, deputy secretary Duong Van An stressed the importance role of managing, using and exploiting the tourist area, but the most priority is given to management task. The project’s objectives are to preserve and embellish the natural beauty of the Flying Sand Hill tourist area, creating a clear and civilized tourism environment that can put good impression on visitors. According to Mr. Duong Van An, the following matters should be taken into consideration, including: to consolidate the amount of losing sand due to human actions; not to charge visitors to the area unless they join any entertainment activities; to re-beautify the surrounding scenery and sanitation, parking lots, toilets. Otherwise, it is necessary to establish a management team in prevention of customer dispute and rip-off. He requested the HCYU of Binh Thuan branch to try its best to complete the project through practical probe as soon as possible in preparation for the next discussion.
