The Dau Giay-Phan Thiet section has a total length of 99 kilometers (including 47.5 km through Binh Thuan and 51.5km through Dong Nai province). It is built under the A-category expressway standards with designed speed of 120km/h. At the total completion phrase, it has a scale of 6-lane vehicle, surface breath of 32.25 meters.
The total cost of the project is estimated at over VND 12,500 billion, including fees of construction, equipment, site clearance, and assistance for resettlement.
Particularly, the package No.1-XL (from Km0+000 to Km16+400) from 4 communes of Ham Kiem, Ham Minh, Ham Cuong and Tan Lap (Ham Thuan Nam district, Binh Thuan province) totals up to VND 1,070 billion; The package No.4-XL (from Km83+000 to Km99+000) goes through Hang Gon commune (Long Khanh), Nhan Nghia, Xuan Que, Song Nhan (Cam My, Dong Nai) and communal road 25 (Thong Nhat, Dong Nai).
The North-South Expressway’s Phan Thiet-Dau Giay section will cut down travel time from Sai Gon to Binh Thuan, opening up investment opportunities to the South-central regions, addressing road jams and reducing road accidents on the National Highway 1A.
