According to the organizing unit, there will be around 2,000 athletes from both inside and outside the province participating in the Bikini Run Phan Thiet 2024. This is the first time Vietnam has a running event where runners will compete in bikinis.
Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province stated: “This is the first time the Bikini Run event is organized in Vietnam and Binh Thuan province is the host. We hope to create a positive impact and attract many participants. The natural conditions with beautiful beaches and fresh natural landscapes of Binh Thuan are very suitable for organizing such new events.”
In the beautiful location of Phan Thiet, the runners will run a distance of 3 km along the coast of Phan Thiet with beautiful scenery and various challenges such as climbing nets, sliding on slippery mats, or enjoying interesting water sprays. Perhaps the biggest attraction of the event is that the runners will run in bikinis barefoot, immersing themselves in a music festival and various exciting entertainment activities.
A representative of the organizing committee said that there are now more than 1,000 registered participants, especially from various groups in the southern region taking part in this special running route.
The combination of sports and tourism is a common trend that many countries around the world are following. Successfully organizing events like this will help the locality move towards new and larger sports events in the future, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam added.
