Binh Thuan to host Youth traditional martial arts championship

BTO-On the July 2nd evening, the 2024 Provincial Youth Traditional Martial Arts Championship started at the Provincial Sports Arena, having the presence of Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam - Deputy Director of Binh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Participating in the tournament, there were 250 athletes from 15 traditional martial arts units and clubs in the province. The organizing committee will award 50 sets of medals in the categories of performance and combat.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam emphasized that This tournament gathers many young athletes in all age groups from localities and strong traditional martial arts clubs in the province not only to exchange, study, and accumulate valuable experiences through competition but also to improve their professional qualifications.

The Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism affirmed that this is also an opportunity for experts and trainers to exchange and learn new things from each other, thereby further tightening the bond between units and localities in the region.

Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam shared that after nearly 18 years, we participated in the national youth traditional martial arts championship and achieved 1 gold medal - 2 silver medals -1 bronze medal, ranking 10th among the 40 participating delegations which is a good achievement. In the future, we will continue to attend the competition and by 2026 we will have a traditional martial arts team attending the 10th National Sports Festival in 2026.
