Minister of the Culture-Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien on August 24th signed a Decision on Recognition of Mui Ne (Binh Thuan province) as National Tourist area.
The newly-signed Decision assigns the Department of Culture Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan to team up with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VAT) to hold recognition announcing ceremony to promote the Binh Thuan’s tourism image and attract tourists.

Under the Prime Minister’s Master plan on the Development of Mui Ne National Tourist Area until 2025, a vision toward 2030, the Mui Ne national tourist area covers a total area of 14,760 hectares, including about 1,000 hectares of the core area for the formation and development of functional tourism areas.

Mui Ne National Tourist Area is developed in the direction of green growth, eco-friendly environment protection in the special landscapes of Bau Trang, Bau Sen and coastal sand-hills. The site set to become one of the most-visited destinations in the Asia-Pacific by 2030 in the hope of welcoming about 9 million visitors, including 1.5 million foreigners in 2025. The respective figures are expected to reach 14 million and 2.5 million in 2030.
In the meantime, the newly-recognized national tourist area is expected to bring the locality tourism revenue of VND 24 trillion in 2025 and VND 50 trillion in 2030, according to the plan. The tourism industry also targets at creating 24,000 direct jobs in 2025 and 45,000 jobs plus by 2030.
